Kabul: IS-K Claimed Responsibility for Supreme Court Attack in Kabul
On 8 February 2017, Islamic state of Khorasan (IS-K) claimed responsibility for the deadly suicide attack on Supreme Court in Kabul city of Afghanistan. The attack took place on 7 February in which 21 people were killed while 41 other were wounded[1].
Jawazjan: Six ICRC Employees Killed in Northern Afghanistan
On 8 February 2017, at least six employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) were shot killed by terrorist belonging to Islamic State of Khorasan in Shibergan town of Qoshtapa district of Jawazjan Province in northern Afghanistan.[2]
Kabul: Taliban Commander Killed in Kabul
On 08 February 2017, Rahim Gul, a local leader of the Taliban group was killed along with his two fighters during a military operation in Surobi district of Kabul province of Afghanistan[3].
Helmand: Eight Afghan Taliban Fighters Killed in Helmand
On 08 February 2017, at least eight militants affiliated with Afghan Taliban were killed during a military operation conducted in Garamser district of Helmand province of Afghanistan[4].
Samgangan: Taliban Commander Arrested in Samgangan
On 08 February 2017, Afghan Police arrested Mullah Yarqul, a commander of Afghan Taliban along with two other Taliban Taikhonk locality of Aibak, the provincial capital, Samangan province.[5]
Gardez: Two Killed in Suicide Attack in Paktia
On 08 February 2017, at least two civilians were killed while another was wounded in a suicide attack in the Dand-i-Patan district of southeastern Paktia province of Afghanistan. So far none of the terrorist groups in the said province have claimed responsibility for the attack.[6]
Nangarhar: Two ISK Terorist Killed in Nangarhar Drone Strike
On 08 February 2017, two terrorist belonging to the Islamic State of Khorasan (ISK-K) were killed and three others were critically wounded in a NATO airstrike in Haska Mena district of eastern Nangarhar province.[7]
