Despite massive international effort to secure and stabilize Afghanistan since 2001, the country remains volatile and balanced on a knife-edge. A rising insurgency coupled with structural weaknesses, political disharmony, and aid-dependent rentier economy continues to characterize the country as a fragile state. Through this programme, the FRC focuses on a broad array of internal and external dynamics of the country to gain a deep understanding through investigating various aspects of the country and keep the relevant quarters updated on regular basis.
