Miranshah, June 10: The restless region of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) once more observed the shock-waves of suicide attack here on the evening of Monday. Among the injured five were female that were air lifted by Army aviation helicopters to a military run hospital in Bannu for treatment.
A local militant organization, Ansar-Ul-Mujahideen took the responsibility of the attack.
As per details provided by political administration official the mini truck vehicle full of explosive materials smashed into the boundary wall of the check post that was located in Boya tehsil of the agency around twenty kilometers in the west of Miranshah, the headquarters of agency.
“The suicide attacker drove the vehicle into the check post that was manned by military men at about 5pm on Monday that resultantly killed at least three on duty officials’ and left behind ten others injured”, revealed the official.
The blast was so powerful that it destroyed the check post completely while causing partial damages to the nearby houses leaving civilians to sustain injuries.
“Five women in the nearby houses also received critical wounds when the walls of their buildings collapsed due to the shock-waves of the suicide attack”, added the official.
All the injured including civilians, women and the five security personnel, were shifted through Helicopter to a military run hospital in Bannu.
“The women would be treated the way the uniform persons gets medical treatment”, revealed the official of political administration.
Abu Baseer, the central spokesman of Ansar-Ul-Mujahideen, called to FRC from an undisclosed location and claimed the responsibility of the suicide bombing.
“Our fighters have carried out this bold attack on Boya check post in order to avenge the Mirali shelling conducted in the recent past and we will continue attacking the area stationed forces’ in future also”, added Abu Baseer.
“They will target us from air and we will hit them on ground”, added the spokesman.
However the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group spokesman Ahmad Ullah Ahmadi called FRC and condemned the attack on the forces check post and urged the people to work for bringing peace to the agency.
“We strongly condemn this attack and all our sympathies are with the martyrs of this incident. We must cooperate with the Grand Waziristan Tribal Jirga that are working to bring peace to the region”, said Ahmadi.
He also extended the deadline they have given to the area people to migrate from North Waziristan Agency before 10th of June 2014.
“In lieu of the grand Jirga efforts for peace in the agency we have decided to extend the migration deadline till 20th June 2014”, revealed Ahmadi.
The imminent military offensive in the agency has forced a large number of people to migrate from the agency to the adjacent districts of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. However the Pakistani security forces have lost many of their personnel in militant attacks on forces check posts and convoys in the agency that have incited the government to think of a military operation in the agency but till the last reports the government has yet to decide formally about the looming offensive.
