Security Check Post on Wanna-Gomal Zam Road Reduced
South Waziristan Agency: He said that the military authorities had brought down the number of security checkposts from 10 to two, introduced a computerised entry and exit system to facilitate the people commuting the 140-kilometre main highway linking South Waziristan`s regional headquarters with Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The decision to reduce the number of security checkposts had been taken in view of the improved security situation in the region and will ease congestion and ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic on the Wana-Gomal Zam Road. South Waziristan Agency: A delegation of US senators, led by John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee along with General Asim Qamar Bhajwa, Chief of Armed staff visited South Waziristan. Rabbani to meet CMs for linkage between Senate, provincial assemblies
Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani has decided to hold meetings with the four provincial chief ministers to discuss with them a proposed roadmap to establish a linkage between the upper house of parliament and provincial assemblies and to ensure that the rights of the provinces are protected. The Senate chairman `will commence a round of consultations with the provincial chief ministers this week` and for this purpose he has already written letters to them, says an official handout issued by the Senate secretariat here on Monday. Chitral: Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan will inaugurate work on the 69MW Lawi hydropower project near Drosh town in Chitral district of Khyberpakhtunkwa province.
