Major among four security men martyred in Dir blast
UPPER DIR: An army major and three other security personnel were martyred when a suicide bomber blew himself up during an intelligence-based operation in Sheratkal village of Sultankhel Darra, Upper Dir. According to security officials and local administration, the incident took place when security personnel raided a house where militants were hiding. As they entered the house, the militants opened fire and one of them wearing a suicide jacket blew himself up, resulting in the death of Major Ali Salman, Hawaldar Ghulam Nazir, Hawaldar Akhtar and Levies soldier Abdul Karim. Khyber admin restores perks, privileges of Sipah tribe
LANDI KOTAL: The Khyber Agency administration restored all the perks and privileges of Sipah tribe after reaching an understanding with its elders regarding handing over of suspected militants involved in bomb attack on security forces in Bara last month. Officials said that Sipah elders agreed to cooperate with the administration in identifying and locating the wanted men for their alleged involvement in a bomb attack, which took place in Malakdinkhel on July 16. Security situation improves in Fata, claims report
KHAR: Security situation has improved in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas during the second quarter of 2017 (AprilJune) as violent incidents declined by 19 per cent compared to the first quarter, according to a report released by the Fata Research Centre. The report said a total of 100 violent incidents -both terrorism and counter terrorism were reported in the entire tribal area in the period mentioned, compared to 119 violent incidents reported during the first quarter of 2017.
