Khar, February 20, 2017: Security forces claimed to have arrested two brothers of the suspected facilitator of the Feb 13 bomb attack in Lahore from their residence in Bajaur Agency’s Mamond tehsil.
Security sources said that the two brothers of the alleged facilitator Anwarul Haq – Khalilullah and Hamidullah, sons of Fazalur Rehman – were arrested in the remote Bar Kalan area during a search operation conducted on a tip-off on Saturday.
According to the sources, scores of other people of the area were also detained during the operation. They added that the brothers of alleged facilitator and other detainees were shifted to an unknown place for interrogation.
Alleged facilitator Anwarul Haq, alias Haq, belonged to Salman Khail tribe in Bar Kalan, the hilly area of Mamond tehsil, located some 20kms north west of Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur Agency, they added.
Local sources said that, owing to his small business in Delhi gate area of Lahore, Anwarul Haq and his family had been living in Lahore since 2010. Anwar had not visited his native town in Bajaur for six years, they said.
Some members of his family had also been arrested from Lahore, a few days ago.
It’s pertinent to mention here that, on Friday, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharief, while addressing a press conference, had asserted that Anwarul Haq was the facilitator of February 13 suicide attack in Lahore, which claimed the lives of 15 people and wounded several others.
Meanwhile, security forces also arrested five suspected terrorists from Bajaur Agency’s Mamond tehisl on Sunday, security sources told.
They said that the suspected militants were arrested from different areas of Mamond tehisl during a search operation conducted with the help of local people.
According to the sources, the suspected militants were shifted to some undisclosed location for further interrogation.
The sources told that the security forces, with the help of local administration and peace committee, have sped up search operations in different areas of the agency to arrest the miscreants and suspected militants.
