13 Insurgents Killed in Kunduz Drone Strike
Kunduz: At least 13 armed insurgents were killed in a drone attack in Kunduz province. Three insurgent commanders were also among those killed. The Taliban leaders killed in the airstrikes had been identified as Taliban’s military commission Chief Mawlavi Noor Mohammad, Taliban’s commander of the masked unit Mawlavi Abdul Khaliq and his deputy Qari Shah Jahan. Ghani Calls on Militants to Quit Violence during Ramadan
President Ashraf Ghani called on all militant groups to quit violence during the Holy month of Ramadan. Ghani said in a message that on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, I urge all militant groups to accept the call of Afghan people on peace or at least avoid killing, conflict and violence during the Holy month of Ramadan in order to respect this sacred month. Meanwhile, a number of religious scholars and Kabul residents said war and violence in Ramadan was against the teachings of Islam and that they suggest that differences should be resolved through negotiations. Iranian ISIS Militant Arrested in East of Afghanistan
Nangarhar: An Iranian national fighting with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group militant has been arrested by the Afghan security forces in eastern Nangarhar province.
