Nangarhar: 33 ISIS Militants Killed in Military Operations
On 12 February 2017, at least 33 militants belonging to the Islamic State of Khorasan (IS-K) were killed while 12 others were wounded in air and ground operations carried out in Achin, Kot and Rodat districts of Nagarahar province of Afghanistan. According to military sources, a huge amount of weapons, ammunitions and IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) were also seized during the operations.[1]
Badkhshan: High Level Taliban Commander was Killed in Military Operation
On 12 February 2017, Mawlavi Naqibullah, a high level commander of Afghan Taliban, along with nine militants was killed while 14 others were wounded in military operations conducted in Farghamero and Aab Raghak villages in Jurm district of Badakhshan province in Afghanistan.[2]
Kunduz: ANP Foiled Car Bombing Plot
On 12 February 2017, a car bombing plot was foiled by Afghan National Police in Kunduz City of Kunduz Province in Afghanistan. According to military sources, the attack plot was foiled by the Afghan police force and the car bomb was defused, extracting 220 kg of explosives from the vehicle.[3]
Jawzjan: IED Attack Left one Killed
On 12 February 2017, the brother of a district police chief was killed in a bomb blast in Taloqan area in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan.[4]
Kandahar: Deputy Police Chief Killed in Target Killing Incident
On 12 February 2017, the deputy police chief for southeastern Khost province was killed in a gun attack in the Southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.[5]
