Nangarhar: ISIS associates killed during operations in Pachera and Achin
On 26 October 2016, counter-terrorism operations were conducted in which at least 45 Militants including 19 loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group along with an Arab militant were killed in Pachera Agam and Achin districts. The operations were conducted with the support of close-air support and artillery units.[1]
Nangarhar: Attack on Indian consulate thwarted in Jalalabad
Afghan security forces have arrested two would-be suicide bombers and thwarted their plan to attack the Indian Consulate in Jalalabad city, bordering Pakistan. The bomber, identified as Nasrullah, son of Hazrat Bilal Obaidullah alias Shina, son of Torrkhan, was arrested.[2]
Kabul: Taliban militants killed during operation in Sarobi
On 26 October 2016, at least 11 militants, allegedly associated with Taliban, were killed and 22 others sustained injuries in an operation conducted in Sarobi district of Kabul province as per statements put forward by Ministry of Defense.[3]
Ghor: Civilians shot dead by Daesh militants in Firoz Koh
On 26 October 2016, at least 36 Afghan civilians have been shot dead by the anti-government armed militant groups in Firoz Koh of Ghor province. Daesh militants conducted this brutal act to avenge the killing of their commanders. The civilians were first abducted and then were shot.[4]
Paktika: Twin blasts kill civilians in Sharana
On 26 October 2016, one civilian was killed and 17 others injured in twin back to back bomb blasts in Sharana district of Paktika province. Responsibility of the incident has not been claimed by any militant group so far.[5]
Jawzjan: ISIS rebels kill prayer leader in Darzab
Militants belonging to ISIS targeted a prayer leader thereby killing him on the spot. The incident took place in Darzab district of Jawzjan province. [6]

Kabul: Finaland Expresses concern regarding tension between NUG leaders
Timo Soini, the Foreign Minister of Finland expressed his concern over the rift between leaders of National Unity Government and said that unity among them was crucial for Afghanistan’s victory in the war against terrorism.[7]
