Four policemen and an employee of a petrol pump were killed when unknown armed men attacked police mobile in Dera Ismail Khan. Bannu/Peshawar: Seven militants killed in clashes
Seven militants were killed in clashes with security forces in Bakakhel area of Bannu and Regi area of Peshawar. Bannu Police said that four militants were killed in exchange of fire with the security forces near Marwat Canal on Bakakhel Road. Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) in Peshawar said that three militants were killed in a clash in Regi area during an operation. Khyber Agency: Arms, Drugs recovered in Jamrud
The security forces have recovered arms and drugs in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency and arrested two suspects. The security forces said that on a tip-off, a search operation was carried out in Sur Kamar area during which a gun, one pistol, cartridges, 43 packets of heroin and 138 packets hashish were recovered. Bajaur Agency: Curfew for indefinite period imposed
Owing to the growing security concerns, the Bajaur Agency political administration has imposed the curfew for an indefinite period in the agency’s headquarters. South Waziristan Agency: Tribal elders demand reconstruction of roads
Tribal elders of Mehsud tribe in South Waziristan Agency demanded of the Communication and Works (C&W) department to reconstruct and repair the agency roads that were destroyed during the recent heavy snowfall. The tribal elders blamed the C&W department for not taking proper care of roads after Rah-e-Nijat, a military operation that was conducted against militants in South Waziristan in 2009. Radio TNN
North Waziristan Agency: Owners of damaged houses get compensation cheques
Compensation cheques were distributed among nine people for reconstruction of their houses damaged in the operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan Agency. Assistant Political Agent Miranshah Muhammad Anwar Khan Sherani told TNN that the owners of two completely damaged houses were given Rs400,000 each, while the owners of partially damaged houses were given Rs160,000 each through cheques. North Waziristan Agency: Repatriation of NWA displaced people from Afghanistan suspended
The repatriation of displaced people of North Waziristan Agency, coming from Afghanistan, has been suspended for an indefinite period due to closure of Pak-Afghan border. Assistant Political Agent Miranshah Anwar Shah Shirani said that Ghulam Khan check post at the Zero Point has been sealed over security concerns. He said the patrolling of security forces on the border has also been increased to check the infiltration of militants. Khyber Agency: Two FC soldiers injured in cross border attack
Two Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers have been injured in a cross border attack on a security check post in Torkham area of Khyber Agency. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants from Afghan side opened fire on the security check post in Torkham, leaving two soldiers injured. The Pakistani soldiers also retaliated and killed all the attackers. The increasing terror incidents in Pakistan during the last one weak have created an atmosphere of fear in the country. Khyber Agency: Security forces shell militants’ hideout
At least 11 terrorists were killed and 10 of their hideouts were destroyed during security forces shelling near Pak-Afghan border, said security sources. Security sources added that 10 hideouts of the terrorists were also destroyed along with ammunition and weapons in the operation. Mansehra: Explosive material seized in Oghi
The police claimed to have arrested a man and seized over 150kgs of explosive material from his jeep in Oghi. `We have seized over 150kgs of explosive material being transported through Thakot Oghi road and arrested a suspected person, a resident of Shangla district,` DPS Shimraz Khan told media persons in Oghi. He said that following a tip-off a police party, led by Oghi SHO Amir Khan, searched a jeep and found explosive material packed in bags to mislead or give an impression that flour was being transported. Mohmand Agency: Governor distributes compensation cheques among families of terror victims
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra distributed compensation cheques among the heirs of Mohmand Agency terror attack victims. During his visit to Mohmand Agency, the governor distributed Rs3 million each among the heirs of martyred Levies personnel and Rs150,000 among the injured. Peshawar: USAID offers technical help on Fata-KP merger
As political parties are at loggerheads over the proposed merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the USAID has jumped in by offering technical assistance to the provincial government on the matter. The Torkham and Chaman border crossings with Afghanistan have been sealed for an indefinite period over security concerns. As per details, the government has decided to seal Torkham and Chaman borders with Afghanistan for an indefinite period following the latest deadly suicide attack at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar that left more than 76 people dead and 150 others wounded.
