Two Militants Killed in Cross-border Attack
Mohmand Agency: Two militants were killed in a clash after an attack on a border security post in Biazai, northwest of Ghalanai, the Mohmand tribal region’s headquarters. According to local residents, militants from across the Afghan border stormed the Olai top post late in the night and opened fire with heavy weapons. Gwadar: A motorcycle bomb exploded on Airport Road in the emerging port city of Gwadar, leaving three people injured who were taken to Gwadar district hospital. Militant Killed in Search Operation
Kohlu: A suspected militant was shot dead during a joint search operation conducted by Personnel of the Frontier Corps and intelligence officials in the Kahan area of Kohlu district after receiving a tip-off about the presence of armed militants. Rangers Arrested Five Terrorists
Karachi: The Sindh Rangers claimed to have arrested five terrorists associated with militant organizations during a targeted operation in the outskirts of Karachi. Rangers expanded their intelligence network and then conducted a raid in Keamari Town’s Mawach Goth. After a brief exchange of gunfire, the force arrested five men with weapons and explosives. Terrorists were part of nexus with India’s RAW (Research & Analysis Wing) and NDS (National Directorate of Security, Aghan Intellegence agency) who were operating from across the borders. Islamabad: Police arrested two suspects and recovered weapons and wine during a search operation in Sihala area. IHC Orders Government to Revisit Population Census Procedure in FATA
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) to revisit the procedure of holding population and household census in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) after a lawyer from South Waziristan Agency, Samreena Khan Wazir, had filed a writ petition under article 199 of the constitution in Islamabad High Court seeking postponement of the ongoing population and household census in Fata. Federal Government is not serious to Merge FATA with KP: Asfandyar Wali Khan
According to Asfandyar Wali Khan, the Awami National Party (ANP) Chief, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not serious about the merger of tribal areas with KP. He said that powers in FATA still rest with the governor and the Centre is planning to bring members of provincial assembly from FATA who will have no powers.
