CTD arrests two terrorists
MULTAN: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police claimed to have arrested two suspected terrorists and seized weapons from their possession. A spokesman said a CTD team received information that two terrorists belonging to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent were present in Al-Mansoor Garden area near Awan Chowk and were planning to attack law enforcement officials as well as sensitive installations in the city. The team conducted a raid at the location and arrested the suspects. They also seized four hand grenades, four detonators, a pistol and Rs2,650 in cash. Dawn
Man shot dead
GWADAR: Armed men shot dead a government servant in Gichk area of Panjgur district. Levies officials said that the armed men riding a motorcycle targeted Khuda Bakhsh when he was going home from office. He suffered multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. He was an employee of the provincial building and road department. The gunmen escaped from the scene after the murder. No one has claimed responsibility for the killing so far. Dawn
Two people killed in landmine blasts
Nasirabad: Two people, including an 18-year-old shepherd, were killed in two landmine explosions in the Fulaji area of Nasirabad district. Police said that a man identified as Muhammad Nawaz was killed in the first landmine blast which took place in Goth Kanta of the Chattar tehsil. They added that the incident took place when his motorcycle hit a landmine planted by the roadside. The other landmine blast took place in the Goth Mastkundi area where an 18-year-old shepherd identified as Shano Bugti was killed after he stepped on a landmine planted in the area. Dawn

Trump lambastes Pakistan over anti-terror fight
W A S H I N G T O N: Hours after US President Donald Trump called upon Pakistan to demonstrate its commitment to civilisation, order and to peace` and identified the country a safe haven for `agents of chaos, violence and terror`, Islamabad expressed its disappointment over the disregard for its sacrifices, but vowed to continue participating in global counterterrorism efforts. President Trump`s new strategy for Afghanistan, which he announced in an address to his nation, also warned against the possibility of Pakistan`s nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorists and being used against the United States.

China defends Pakistan against Trump’s criticism
