Twin cities on high alert ahead of SC verdict
ISLAMABAD: The twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be on high alert in anticipation of the Supreme Court verdict in the Panama Papers case scheduled to be announced. The Red Zone has been put on red alert and the rest of the capital and Rawalpindi will be on high alert. The Red Zone has also been partially sealed and only concerned people will be allowed in after undergoing identification and security checks. Dawn
Ex-constable of CTD shot dead
KOHAT: A former constable of the counter-terrorism department (CTD) was killed while another police official was injured along with an Afghan refugee in separate attacks. Unknown armed motorcyclists ambushed a van near Jawaki Banda on Hangu highway and killed former CTD constable Rayat Ali, a resident of Raisan, Hangu district while constable Shahid Iqbal of Junglekhel police station was injured when unidentified men opened firing at him from a nearby orchard. Nowshera admin stopped from dislodging IDPs
PESHAWAR: A Peshawar High Court bench stopped the Nowshera district administration from dislodging several internally displaced families of Bajaur Agency from Benazir Bhutto Complex Nowshera at Risalpur. The bench comprising Justice Lal Jan Khattak and Justice Abdul Shakoor issued the order over a writ petition filed by Fazli Amin and two other internally displaced persons (IDPs) on behalf of the families, seeking directives from the high court to the relevant of officials for payment of compensation for their damaged houses along with handing them over their landed properties which were allegedly occupied by local influential figures.
