Muzaffarabad: Two teenagers were killed and three others injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked shelling with heavy weapons from across the Line of Control (LoC) early on Monday morning. Two `BLA Militants` Killed in Quetta
Quetta: Security forces claimed to have killed two suspected militants belonging to a banned outfit during an encounter in the Killi Khazi area on Monday. Official sources said that two unidentified men opened fire when the Frontier Corps (FC) personnel intercepted them for a routine check, resulting in the shootout. Peshawar: As many as 322 suspects were rounded up during search operations in the provincial capital on Monday. Islamabad: The joint investigation team (JIT) looking into allegations of money laundering against the Sharif family told the Supreme Court on Monday that certain government institutions were obstructing the team`s access to relevant records as well as forging and tampering with documents. Though the allegations were not directly levelled by JIT head Wajid Zia, the information was made public in the open court without further explanation by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, a member of the three-judge Supreme Court implementation bench formed to oversee the investigation of the Sharif family in the light of Panama Papers revelations. Kurram Agency: The political administration of the Kurram Agency launched a grand anti-encroachment drive in Sadda Bazaar and demolished more than a hundred shops. During the anti-encroachment drive, more than hundred illegal shops, cabins and other encroachments outside the shops in the bazaar were razed. PM Launches Gulf `Mediation Effort`, Meets Salman
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday launched a `mediation effort` to resolve the rifts between Qatar and other Gulf states. PM Sharif, who arrived in Jeddah for a one-day trip, met King Salman bin Abdul Aziz. According to the Press Information Department, the PM was received by Makkah Governor Prince Faysal bin Abdul Aziz. King Salman also hosted an Iftar reception in honour of the visiting delegation.
