Landmine Blast Injures Four in Kohlu
Kohlu: Four people were injured when their vehicle hit a landmine in the Kahan area of Kohlu district. Levies officials said militants had planted a land-mine on the main road which exploded when a passenger van hit it, resulting in injuries to four people. Four TTP Militants Executed after Military Trial
Kohat: Four militants belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and sentenced to death by military courts were executed in the prison. The hanged men were involved in committing heinous crimes, including killing civilians, attacking a mosque, destroying communications infrastructure and attacking personnel of law enforcement agencies and the armed forces, according to the army`s public relations wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Terrorists Held during Intelligence Based Operation
Jacobabad: Jacobabad police, with the help of other law enforcement agencies (LEAs), claimed to have arrested three suspected terrorists who were said to be involved in bomb blasts on railway tracks in the district. SSP Sarfaraz Nawaz Shaikh told media persons that police, along with personnel of LEAs, cordoned off Taja Shakh line locality within the jurisdiction of Dodapur police station after receiving a tip-off that three terrorists were bringing explosive material to Sindh via Jacobabad from Usta Mohammad town of Balochistan. Survey Reports of Border Villages Sent to Kabul and Islamabad
Teams headed by military officials of Pakistan and Afghanistan completed a geographical survey of two villages located close to the Pak-Afghan border and dispatched their reports to their respective governments. ‘We have completed a geographical survey of both villages, Killi Lugman and Killi Jhangir, along with an Afghan survey team,’ a security official said, adding that Islamabad and Kabul would take the final decision after reviewing the reports. Closure of Pak-Afghan Border Suspended Repatriation: UNHCR
Chaman: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has said that the closure of Pak-Afghan border in Chaman has resulted in suspension of the repatriation of Afghan refugees. UNHCR spokesperson said that the voluntary return of Afghan refugees was halted on May 05 after Afghan forces resorted to aggression against Pakistan which left at least 11 civilians dead and scores of others injured. Afghanistan Asked to Check Cross Border Movement
Islamabad: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has called upon Afghanistan to check cross border movement of terrorists and take action against outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) operating from across the border. Setting up of 1,200 MW Gas-Fired Power Plant Approved
Encouraged by the success of its earlier ventures in power generation, Punjab has decided to set up one more gas-fired power plant. A meeting of the provincial cabinet approved setting up of the new 1,200 MW plant at a suitable place in Rahimyar Khan or Muzaffargarh. Sit-in against Demolition of Houses
Conflict inflicted people from North Waziristan Agency, Dande and DarpaKhel, staged a sit-in against the demolition of their houses. At least 2,400 families have taken their returning token but they are still waiting for repatriation.
