Hekmatyar’s Relative Shot Dead in Peshawar
Peshawar: A relative of Hizb-i-Islami chief Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the Afghan warlord who recently signed a peace deal with the government in Kabul, was gunned down on the outskirts of the provincial capital. The attack took place at around 4am when Mohammad was coming out of a mosque after offering morning prayers. DSP Died, SI Injured in Quetta Firing
Quetta: Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Umar Rehman was killed while his nephew, Sub-Inspector (SI) Bilal Shams, was injured when some unidentified armed men opened fire on them in Huda. According to the media reports, the DSP, along with his nephew, was heading for their home when some unknown armed motorcyclists opened fire on them near the Jail Road and fled. FIA Asks UK to send back Human Smuggling Suspects
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has asked British authorities to cancel visas issued to two suspected human smugglers, who managed to fly out of Benazir Bhutto International Airport. According to a senior FIA official, the agency had written to UK authorities and asked them to revoke the travel authorization issued to the two suspects, who managed to travel to London via PK-785, even as three Afghan women travelling on forged UK documents were taken into custody. Survey of Damaged Houses Re-Launched in Bazghara, Bara
The survey of houses damaged during militancy and military operation in Bazghara area Kamarkhel in Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency was re-launched. The survey committee headed by Political Tehsildar Khalid Khan launched the survey in presence of local elders and collected information about the damaged houses. Around 49,000 IDPs Families waiting for their Return
Over 97 percent Internally Displace Persons (IDPs) have gone back to their homes in South Waziristan Agency and North Waziristan Agency while around 49,000 families are waiting for their return. The government was taking steps to return all the IDPs to their home villages in both agencies. On the other hand, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) handed over 4,000 tents, 8,000 plastic sheets and 4,000 core relief item kits to FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) to support the government’s efforts.
