Khyber agency: 45 suspects held under collective responsibility clause released
The Political Administration in Khyber agency released around 45 suspected tribesmen arrested after a polio worker named Fazal Amin was shot dead by unknown assailants a few days ago in Ghundi area of the agency. The elders of Koki Khel tribe called on the political agent and requested the authorities to release the tribesmen arrested over the said murder case.[1]

Timergara: Peace volunteer killed by unknown assailants
A peace volunteer of Kuro Bagh, identified as Bahadar Khan, was on his way to oversee an electrification scheme when unknown armed men opened fire at him in Lagharai area. He was critically injured and was shifted to Lal Qila Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Lal Qila police launched FIR against the attackers and launched investigation into the matter.[2]
Bannu: TTP militants arrested in Bannu
The Counter Terrorism Department (Bannu) acted on a tip-off regarding the presence of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants and conducted a search operation in Bannu city. The CTD was successful in arresting three TTP militants and recovering arms and ammunition from their possession. The militants were shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.[3]

Karachi: Target killer executed amid encounter in Korangi
A suspected alleged target killer was gunned down during a raid carried out by Counter Terrorism Department in Korangi. In a separate raid conducted in the same area of Karachi, three alleged target killers were arrested. These raids were conducted after receiving intelligence about their presence in the area.[4]

Gwadar: Gabd Kalato Union Council Chairman killed in Turbat
The chairman of Gabd Kalato Union Council was shot dead by unidentified assailants while his body was dumped in Khairabad area of Turbat. Multiple bullets were found in the dead body. The deceased was kidnapped a week earlier from Khairabad area.[5]
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Muzaffarabad: Cross border shelling along Line of Control claims four lives
Indian Border Security Force continued shelling across the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. In the latest strike which occurred in Nakyal sector of Kotli district, four civilians lost their lives while six sustained injuries. No casualties were, however, reported in Sialkot.[6]

Islamabad: Parliamentarians endorse FATA’s merger with KP
A round table conference titled: “Integrating Fata: Issues and Challenges”, was organized by Shaheed Bhutto Foundation in Islamabad. Experts and parliamentarians expressed their support for the recommendations recently put forth by FATA Reforms Committee regarding future governance in FATA. The attendants endorsed the gradual merger of tribal areas into KP but emphasized that the governor, during the period of transition, should be a tribesman of FATA so that he would be more prone towards protecting the rights of his own people.[7]
Bajaur Agency: JUI demands referendum for bringing reforms in FATA
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal Ur Rahman (JUI-F) held a public gathering in Khar, explaining the party’s stance on the recommended reforms in FATA put forward by FATA Reforms Committee. JUI-F leaders said that their party was not against the reforms but objected the procedure undertaken by FATA Reforms Committee to present these reforms. They admitted that the reforms would indeed ensure provision of basic rights to the people. JUI-F leaders also emphasized that the opinion of people of FATA should not be ignored and a referendum should be held to win the peoples’ confidence before bringing any changes in FATA.

Peshawar: UN distributes wheat seeds for Rabi crops in FATA
A statement issued by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization stated that they have begun the largest distribution of Rabi seed during this year in FATA. The statement added that the total number of beneficiaries of this wheat seeds distribution is estimated to be 100,626. The campaign is aimed at distributing wheat seeds in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Kurram and Khyber agencies.[8]

Karachi: Funds allocated for setting up explosives laboratory
A sum of Rs8 million was allocated and approved by Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Chief Minister, for establishment of an explosives laboratory under the jurisdiction of Sindh Police.[9]
China Pakistan Economic Corridor
Gilgit/Baltistan: First trade activity under CPEC kicks off
China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC) project comes into motion as over a hundred Chinese containers arrived at Sust port on 31 October 2016. The Chinese containers left for Gwadar after clearance from customs. The inaugural ceremony of CPEC was held a day earlier at Sust port which was attended by Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafeez Ur Rahman, Force Commander of Gilgit-Baltistan Saqib Mahmud Malik and Chinese officials. While addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Hafeez Ur Rahman stated that CPEC would change the fate of Gilgit-Baltistan for good and contribute a lot to its prosperity and employment.[10]
