South Waziristan Agency – 9 May 2017: The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Mahsud faction have threatened to behead the six hostages kidnapped on 26 November 2016 from Drazinda area in Dera Ismail Khan (D. I. Khan) district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province (KP). The hostages are employees of the Geofizyka Krakow, a Polish Oil and Gas Surveying Company, which has been operating in Pakistan since more than a decade now, and they were kidnapped while they were at work. All the hostages belong to district Attock of Punjab province.
Mahsud Taliban faction led by Khan Said aka Sajna Mahsud of the TTP in a video message recorded in Urdu language have warned to behead the six hostages, if the government of Pakistan fails to comply with their demands. One of the hostages alluded to the beheading of Piotr Stanczak, a Polish Engineer, who was abducted by Tehreek-e-Taliban Dara-Adam Khel Group in 2009 and said “We are going to be beheaded like the Polish Engineer if their (Taliban) demands are not met”.
In a previous video, the hostages had appealed to the government and officials of Geofizyka Krakow to secure their release by accepting demands of the TTP. The TTP is asking for a huge sum as a ransom to release the hostages.
