March 17, 2017: At least two suicide bombers, on Friday, attacked the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Training Academy located at Mattani Road in Peshawa. According to ISPR, the attack was foiled as both suicide bombers were killed in the retaliatory action by security forces.
However, two FC personnel were killed when suicide vest of a perpetrator exploded during an exchange of fire with the security forces. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan-Jamat-ul-Ahrar (TTP-JuA) claimed responsibility of the attack.
It is pertinent to mention here that, following a short lull in militant activities, the violence is again reviving in the northwestern areas of the country, as this is the second militant attack on Friday.
Earlier, two FC personnel were killed when militants attacked a security check-post from across the border in Khyber Agency. At least six militants were also killed during the effective retaliation by security forces.
Pakistan has been experiencing a fresh wave of militancy as, within the span of one month, more than 100 hundred people have been killed during different militant attacks across the country.
