February 21, 2017: As part of heightened security measures to uproot terrorists’ infrastructure in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Pakistani security forces demolished the house of Anwarul Haq in Barkalan area of Mamond tehsil of Bajaur.
Apart from this, more than 60 houses belonging to the members of various militant outfits, including those of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, were also sealed in Mamond and Salarzai Tehsils of the agency. According to local sources, the dwellers of sealed houses have been living in Afghanistan since the launching of successive military operations in tribal areas.
Moreover, six suspected militants were also arrested during multiple search operations launched in different areas of the agency. The detainees were shifted to undisclosed location for further interrogation.
