In the past three months, from July to September 2014, the security situation of FATA remained disturbed. During the third quarter of 2014, a total of 91 terrorism‐related incidents were recorded that caused 628 deaths and another 94 fatal injuries.
The most volatile agency was North Waziristan Agency, followed by Khyber and Bajaur agencies. Orakzai, Mohmand, Kurram and South Waziristan agencies too observed shocks of terrorism but with lower intensity.
Since the launch of the military operation Zarb‐e‐Azb this June, the North Waziristan Agency has been experiencing several multiple-ranged military strikes. The military’s ground and aerial offensives against the militants have, according to reports, weakened considerably the TTP’s strong points.
