A tribal elder was killed and his brother received critical injuries in a remote controlled blast in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency on Saturday. Sources said that a jirga of Kamarkhel tribe was in progress in Takhtaki village when an explosive device concealed in a sack exploded. Tribal elder Rasheed Khan, who was also head of a local peace committee, was killed while his younger brother was critically wounded in the blast, they added. Dawn.
The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday warned of a “tsunami march” on Islamabad if the decisions of the Supreme Court were not implemented and its sanctity undermined. “If President Zardari tried to destroy the Supreme Court, the PTI would march on Islamabad,” he declared.He said the relatives of those being killed in the US drone attacks would soon be presented before the media so that it could be established as to who are being targeted in the tribal areas The News, The Nation.

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said the government could neither stop US drone strikes in tribal areas nor was it capable of ending power load shedding. Addressing a big rally in the provincial capital against resumption of Nato supply and excessive power cuts, Mr Imran said his party was the only party that had the capability to permanently solve energy crisis. “Only PTI with the support of youth can end the vicious cycle of the US slavery under which Pakistanis have been put by the rulers. We have mineral and gas resources in abundance that can not only fulfill our needs but can also be exported,” he said. The PTI chief said as long as Pakistan fought the US-led war against its own people, crisis would linger on.
