BAJAUR AGENCY, Nov 30: Bajaur political administration has placed a ban over the entry of government teachers into the offices of the political administration and education department officials during the duty hours to ensure their presence at schools, FRC learnt.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held here on Friday that was chaired by Bajaur Agency Political Agent, Syed Abdul Jabar Shah, Agency education officer and other senior officials of the political administration were in attendance.
The participants discussed issues related to rehabilitation of damaged educational institutions and strategy for improving standard of education across the agency.
Agency education officer informed the participants that majority of educational institutions destroyed during militancy had been made functional after their rehabilitation while the rest would be reconstructed in few months.
He said several educational institutions particularly girls schools in remote areas had been facing shortage of teachers which badly affected girls` education.
“My administration wants to improve the standard of education in the agency and for that teachers have to be dutiful and must improve their performance”, said Abdul Jabbar Shah. He urged that hundred percent attendances of teachers would be ensured at the educational institutions.
The political agent said that a comprehensive plan would be adopted to improve performance of education sector.
He also asked the education department to initiate a proper monitoring mechanism to ensure presence of teachers at their respective schools during duty hours.
