Bajaur Agency, August 9 : Leaders of All Bajaur political parties’ Alliance (Bajaur Siyasi Ittehad ) on Thursday have strongly rejected the draft of Fata local government regulation 2012 and said that the Regulation would give more power to the local administration in the tribal areas.
Addressing a press conference at Khar leader of All Bajaur political parties’ Alliance (Bajaur Siyasi Ittehad ) including President Haji Said Badshah ,Aurung zeb Inqaliabi, Haji Mohammad Khan, Sardar Khan, Naik Rahman and others has showed great concern over the proposed Fata local government regulation in the Federally Administrative Tribal Areas.
They said extension of the local government in Fata was the demand of every tribesman because the people in the tribal areas have been badly suffered from the current system in Fata, but unfortunately no relief were given to the them in the proposed local government.
“There is nothing special for the public benefit in the Fata local government regulation, it’s all in the interest of the privilege class and the administrative officials,” they added.
They said that most of its articles particularly article 4 and article 9 were totally against the country constitution and the fundamental rights.
The government should take notice over the reservation and demand before the extenuation of the local government regulation in Fata because nothing would succeed without the wishes of the tribesmen.
They said if the government was really interested in the local government regulation to the tribal areas, the government should immediately amend the draft , all the seats should be fill through direct election system and no need for the reserved seats .
“Right of the suspension and the termination of the chairman and deputy chairman of the council should be given to the elected members instead of Governor according to the article 9,” they said..
“The government should reduce the power of the Political agent, the PA should be answerable to the council and consultation with the council must be necessary for every work ,” they said .They also demand that the local bodies’ election in the all-tribal areas should be held wit the basis of the political parties system.
All political parties in Bajaur agency would boycotted from the local government system if the election could not held with the basis of the political parties system in the whole tribal areas,” they warned.
