North Waziristan, August 13, 2012: At least three Pakistani troops were killed and five others sustained serious injuries in two separate incidents of landmine blast and road side accident in North West of Pakistan, security officials and political administration in NWA revealed to FRC on Sunday evening.
“Three troops were died and three others sustained injuries when a pickup carrying security troops from Mir Ali, the sub division of North Waziristan, to Bannu, overturned on Mir Ali bypass road” said a local official at Miran Shah, the main town of North Waziristan.
Security forces official added that in another incident, on Bannu Miranshah Road, two soldiers of Pakistan security forces sustained serious injuries when a road side land mine exploded near Tanga Gurbaz area of FR Bannu. Commandant Brigadier Allaudeen Babar was also travelling in the convoy hit by remote bomb in FR Bannu.
Local sources said that unknown militants also fired on the convoy here from the nearest mountains, but any such incident was not confirmed by official sources.
The wounded soldiers were rushed to Military Hospital at Bannu, the adjacent settled area near North Waziristan Agency.
Both the incidents took place on Sunday when routine-curfew was imposed all over the North Waziristan Agency along with Bannu Miranshah Road for the movement of the security forces.
