BAJAUR AGENCY, Nov15: The two weeks long youth sports festival arranged by the Political Administration of Bajaur Agency in collaboration with the UNICEF concluded in Khar, Bajaur on Thursday.
According to details, the concluding ceremony was attended by a large number of spectators that included the staff of the political administration, teachers, local elders, members of various peace committees and 8000 participating students from 102 educational institutions of the agency. The Political agent, who was the chief guest on the occasion distributed prizes among the winning students.
Addressing the closing ceremony, the Political agent stressed the importance of providing healthy recreational facilities to the youth of the agency to keep them positively engaged and reverse the trend of militancy among them. In this regard, he resolved to continue to work for the construction of more sports and recreation recreational facilities in Bajaur.
The festival commenced on November 1 in Khar, the seat of administration in Bajaur agency, with the objective to engage the youth of Bajaur in positive activities through provision of healthy recreational activities to them. The students participated in different sport competitions including Foot Ball, Volley Ball, Cricket, Gymnastics, long jump and badminton.
