BAJAUR AGENCY, Jan 2: Leaders of all Bajaur Political Parties Alliance (ABPPA) on Wednesday accused Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukat Ullah for creating hurdles in the way of local government system extension to tribal areas.
The leaders of ABPPA also threatened to launch a massive campaign for the removal of the incumbent from the Governors’ office if he didn’t refrain from this anti tribal policy.
Speaking at a press conference at Bajaur Press Club, the ABPPA leaders, including Gull Dad Khan, President, Qari Abdul Majeed, Malik Attaulah Khan, Maulana Waheed Gull, Sheikh Jan Zada, Syed Abdul Manan Kaka Jee and Malik Gull Kareem Khan, said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor is not serious in taking steps for providing basic and modern facilities to tribal people.
“Local bodies election in tribal areas is a long standing demand of tribal people as they consider existence of this very system pivotal for basic and modern civic facilities in the area”, said Gull Dad Khan.
The speakers at the occasion condemned the attitude of the executive authority, Governor KPK, and allegedly held few tribal notables of the area, having support of the governor KPK, responsible for creating hurdles in the way of extension of local bodies system to the area.
“We have solid evidences that Governor KPK is not interested in extending local government system to tribal areas and he has also assigned special tasks to few tribal elders in the area for the same purpose”, told Gull Dad Khan.
They pleaded Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the issue of local government system extension to tribal areas.
“The tribal people want fundamental rights and civic facilities because they consider themselves as a part of this country and lack of constitutional rights is the main hurdle in the development of the area”, they added.
They said that bajaur political parties’ alliance will start massive campaign against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor if construction on Fata Medical College could not started within a week besides change in the behavior of the Governor.
