Landi Kotal, Oct 24: The Christian community residing in Landi Kotal tehsil of Khyber Agency staged a protest rally here on Friday in front of Landi Kotal press club against the printing of their holy Crucifix sign on the sole of children shoes in Lahore, FRC learnt.
The protest demonstration was led by Chairman Christian Community LandiKotal ‘Arshad Maseeh’. A large number of Christians residing in Cheragh Colony and those living inside the forces’ cantonment of the agency participated.
The marchers were holding placards inscribed with slogans condemning the allegedly heinous crime and were chanting slogans against the Lahore administration and the Punjab Police.
Chairman Arshad criticized the unjustified act of selling China made shoes bearing the sign of their holy Cross in Lahore markets.
“We should respect each other religion and must esteem ones’ holy books and symbols” revealed Mr. Arshad.
He said that Christians are peace loving minority and are playing their active role in the prosperity of Pakistan, however, he added, some miscreants are deliberately disturbing the peaceful environment of our country.
He stressed upon the provincial government of Punjab to forthwith halt the import and selling of the shoes and take immediate action for early arrest of the responsible ones.
They requested the Prime Minister of Pakistan to dealt with the culprits as per the law of land and let minorities feel patriotic Pakistani.
