LANDIKOTAL, Nov 20: The Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Fazl Ur Rehman group (JUI-F) held its workers convention in Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency here on Wednesday evening where a large number of people participated, FRC learnt.
The meeting was organized in the hujra of late Haji Gulab Shinwari, the tribal elder of Khuga-Khel tribe of Landikotal.
The gathering was organized under the auspices of JUI-F Khyber Chapter and a large number of prominent figures of the party from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), workers, tribal elites, students and general masses from Landikotal were in attendance.
The convention was presided over by Ameer JUI-F Khyber Agency, Mufti Mohammad Ijaz while Ex-Senator and Ameer of JUI-F KPK, Mulana Gul Naseeb Khan, was the chief guest of the event.
Addressing the occasion Gul Naseeb Khan rejected the demand of Imran Khan of toppling down the Nawaz led government and said that JUI-F neither favors the elimination of current government nor is in favor of conducting fresh elections across the country.
“JUI-F welcomes all kind of political reforms in the country that are inevitable for a democratic system but will never support any abrupt change in the system”, said Mr. Khan.
“Imran Khan should utilize his energies for the welfare of the masses of KPK who have voted his party in 2013 general elections”, Mr. Khan added.
General Secretary JUI-F KPK, Maulana Shuja-Ul-Mulk, Malana Abdu Shakoor, Malana Rahat Hussain, Maulana Rafiullah Qasmi and Mufti Mohammad Ijaz also addressed the gathering.
The convention was held in a bid to create political awareness among its workers in the agency.
