Miranshah, 12 Nov: The funeral prayer of Naseer-Ud-Din Haqqani, son of Jalal-Ud-Din Haqqani, was offered at an undisclosed location here in North Waziristan Agency the other day, FRC learnt.
The deceased was shot dead by unidentified armed persons in the suburbs of Islamabad on the night between Sunday and Monday.
Taliban commanders while speaking to FRC told that Nasir udin Haqqani went to buy bread from a nearby bakery at Barakoh when armed men opened fire on him killing him on the spot.
As per details, cadaver of Nasir-Ud-Din Haqqani was brought to Miranshah on Monday and the funeral prayer was offered at 3pm in Haqqani network compound, according to reports, where around 20 to 25 people, Haqqani network associates, participated and was buried at an undisclosed location.
Nasir-Ud-Din Haqqani, 34, was the brother of Haqqani network current head, Siraj-Ud-Din Haqqani. He served as a Taliban spokesman with a pseudo name of Zabeeh Ullah in Afghanistan. He was also famous as Dr. Khan in his circles. His other three brothers named, Badar-Ud-Din Haqqani, Mohammad and Mohammad Omer Haqqani died at different occasions in the past. The former two were killed in drone attacks while the latter was killed in Paktia Province of Afghanistan.
Naseer-Ud-Din Haqqani was a prominent leader in Haqqani network, and though his family claims their fighters are Afghanistan based however the family had migrated to Pakistan back in 1980.
The Afghan government still blames Pakistan for providing safe heavens to the said network in Waziristan region. USA and its allies has been pressurizing Pakistan for taking a military action against the organization for the past couple of years, however the government considers it inappropriate to its national interests.
Haqqani Network is responsible for a number of attacks on NATO forces stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan.
According to reports Nasir-Ud-Din was responsible for the finances of the organization and for the same purpose he had visited a number of countries from 2005 to 2009 particularly the Gulf countries.
It is worth mentioning here that in 2010 USA put Nasir ud din name in worlds’ terrorist list.
Spokesman of TTP Shahid Ullah Shahid while talking to FRC condemned the killing of Nasir-Ud-Din and held Pakistan spy agencies for it.
