Islamabad, 11 Nov: Unidentified armed men shot dead a member of Haqqani Network and son of Jalaluddin Haqqani, Naseer Uddin Haqqani, in Barakoh area of Islamabad here on the night between Sunday and Monday, FRC learnt.
As per details, the deceased has been identified as a member of Haqqani Network, and was third son of the Chief of Haqqani Group Jalaluddin Haqqani.
Naseeruddin Haqqani, 34, was on way in a car when unidentified gunmen opened firing on him in the area of Barakoh Islamabad, as a result he died while his mate got serious injuries.
The dead body of Naseeruddin was immediately taken to North Waziristan Agency, where his funeral has been announced on 11 Nov, at 4pm.
Haqqani network is an Islamist militant group that operates on both the sides of Pakistan- Afghan border. The haqqanis are currently most capable and potent insurgent group, and they continue to maintain close operational and strategic ties with al-qaeda and their affiliates. These ties will likely deepen in the future.
It is important to mention here that no group has so far claimed the responsibility of the attack. Who is involved in the murder of Naseeruddin Haqqani, it is still suspected, and it’s not clear yet that rival militant group is on back of that attack or it is a result of any personal enmity. Death of Naseer uddin is still undisclosed on media.
