TANK, Dec 6: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has sent a threat letter to media men to abide strictly by Islamic and shariah principles while working for the local and international media channels, FRC learnt.
As per details the banned organization has openly threatened the journalists of strict actions if they continue with their actions against the proscribed organization (TTP) and their Mujahideens ‘Freedom Fighters’.
“It is the duty of every Muslim, man and women, to follow the rules of Islam in their daily lives and businesses”, revealed in letter.
They also recognized the importance of media in the current era of technology and the war of Information technology.
“In the current era of information technology it is media that plays an important role in shaping public opinion and acts as an important pressure group in our political system”, told in the letter.
Taliban also warned the media channels to stop anti-Taliban and anti-Islam propagandas otherwise its consequences would be disastrous for them.
“We, TTP, warn those media channels and its employees that spread anti Taliban sentiments among masses to stop doing so in a shortest possible time to save their lives otherwise they will target them one by one”.
They have compared the present media era with the period of poetry in Prophet (P.B.U.H) times and held the current age of media more disastrous and effective than the former.
“In present, wars are being fought on media while in past they were fought on battle grounds”, disclosed in the letter.
Tehreek-e-Taliban also claimed the responsibility of attacks on Express and Geo News channels on 2nd December 2013.
“We are taking the responsibility of these attacks and it was the start of our operational activities against media men”, held in the letter.
