Khar, June 9: Two personnel of the security forces were killed in separate bomb blasts along the Pak–Afghan border areas of Nawagai tehsil in Bajaur tribal area here on Saturday, FRC learnt.
Officials of the local administration said that two soldiers of the Frontier Crops were killed in separate bombings that occurred in the border areas of Bar Kamangra and Charmang respectively.
“The soldiers embraced martyrdom while they were on duty in separate areas near the Pak-Afghan border when improvised explosives devices planted along the road went off with huge explosions”, an official of the political administration told FRC.
Security officials in Khar also confirmed the killing of two soldiers in twin bomb blasts in the border areas.
They said that two of its soldiers belonging to Frontier Crops have embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) in separate terror incidents carried out by militants in the border areas of Nawgai tehsil.
After the incidents officials of the security forces, levies forces and members of village defence committees rushed to the sites and cordoned off the area and launched search operation.
The bodies of the security personnel were shifted to Khar and later dispatched to their native homes.
No group or individual has so far claimed the responsibility of the bombings but the administration alleged that militants could be responsible for the attacks.
According to the officials of the administration unidentified militants have increased their attacks against the security forces and Bajaur levies force in the region since the Taliban ended ceasefire with the government of Pakistan.
