SOUTH WAZIRISTAN, OCT 3: Political Parties commenced their Election campaigns in Waziristan and PPP spearheaded by taking the initiative in Wana, South Waziristan Agency here on Wednesday, FRC field reporter learnt.
Ahead of upcoming general elections political parties began their public meetings in different parts of FATA.
Pakistan People Party (PPP) organized it first public meeting at Qasimabad area of Wana SWA, which was attended by a large number of people besides members of the People’s Student Federation.
The legal advisor of the party, Mr. Humayun while presenting a tribute to late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the ex Prime Minister and founder of the PPP, said that the founding father of the PPP was the first politician who worked for uplift of the people of FATA.
“Bhutto sanctioned a college and provided us free of cost electricity in 1974 which was a major step in the development of the area while late Benazir Bhutto extended us the right to vote”, he said.
While speaking at the occasion, Secretary General PPP Waziristan, Noor Muhammad said, “we will sacrifice our lives for the sanctity of our country at every front”.
The local elders and maliks including, Malak Gul Khan, Malak Fazal Khan, Malak Zaray Gul, appreciated the efforts of Pakistan People’s Party for the developmental works carried out in the area.
PPP has sanctioned medical college for FATA, an I.T. University, a cadet College for each agency and also amended the FCR, speakers highlighted.
The speakers pleaded with the Governor KPK Masood Kausar to pay a visit to their area to boost up morale of the party workers and activists.
Among other political parties Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) also announced to mark the beginning of their political activities in the SWA by holding a public procession at Kotkai on the 7th of October. The procession, led by chairman PTI Imran Khan, would consist of PTI workers and peace activists from Pakistan and abroad.
