The Fourth Quarter of the year 2015 marked a significant decline in terrorism-related incidents in the tribal areas of FATA. In total, 44 militancy and counter militancy incidents were recorded from all the seven agencies of FATA in the year 2015. However, militant violence declined by 35 % compared to the previous quarter from July to September of the same year. Out of the total incidents 2 were target killing; 4 incidents were militant attacks on civilians, 6 incidents were militants ambush on military and 6 incidents were militant attack on member peace committee. A total of 5 cross-border attacks were carried out by militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban and ISIS, who are stationed in the Afghan border areas. Similarly, 2 incidents of kidnapping for ransom were recorded from different areas of FATA.
