Kunar Governor Survives Taliban Ambush
Kunar: The governor of eastern Kunar province was among several senior provincial officials who escaped unhurt in a Taliban ambush on Sunday. Governor Wahidullah Kalimzai, Wolesi Jirga member Saleh Mohammad, police chief Maj. Col. Juma Gul Himmat, second army brigade commander Brig. Gen. Mirwais Safi, the provincial council head and members had gone to Watapur district to inaugurate some projects. China to Support 4-way Talk Resumption: Special Envoy
Kabul: China’s special envoy on Afghanistan affairs Deng Xijun on Sunday said his country, in case of need, would support resumption of the four-way talks to revive the stalled Afghan peace process. A statement from the CEO Office said CEO Abdullah Abdullah met Deng Xijun and both discussed bilateral relations. The statement said Xijun extended the Chinese prime minister’s best wishes to the CEO and stressed expanded friendly ties between the two countries. Pajhwok
