Herat: Four children killed in IED blast
On 10 November 2016, four children were killed while four others got injured when an improvised explosive device (IED), planted inside the house of a local influential figure by unknown miscreants detonated in Islam Qila township of Herat city. So far, none of the militant groups in the area has claimed responsibility of the attack.[1]
Paktika: ANP held six suspected terrorists in Zarghon Shar district
On 10 November 2016, Afghan National Police (ANP) apprehended six suspects who were travelling in a military vehicle in Zarghon Shar district of southeastern Paktika province.[2]
Kandaharr: Seven people killed in an IED blast in Shah Walikot district
On 10 November 2016, seven members of a family were killed when their vehicle came in contact with an improvised explosive device (IED), planted by unidentified militants along the roadside in Shah Walikot district of southern Kandahar province.[3]
Nangarhar: 11 ISK and three Taliban militants killed in US drone strike
On 10 November 2016, at least 11 militants associated with the Islamic State of Khorasan (ISK) and three militants affiliated with Afghan Taliban were killed when US drones targeted terrorist hideouts in Achin District of Nargarhar province.[4]
Balkh: Four killed, 115 injured in Taliban attack on German Consulate in Mazar-Sharif
On 10 November 2016, at least four people were killed while 115 others got injured when militants affiliated to Afghan Taliban detonated an explosives-laden vehicle near the entrance the German Consulate in Mazar-Sharif city of Balk province. According to the spokesman of German Foreign Ministry, the building of consulate sustained considerable damage; however, all its staff remained unhurt in the violent attack. Taliban while claiming responsibility said that the attack was staged in retaliation to the ongoing military operation in Kunduz province. [5]
Kandahar: Seven people killed in IED blast in Shawali Kot district
On 10 November 2016, at least seven civilians, including two women and three children, were killed when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) in Shawali Kot district of Kandahar province. Although no group has claimed responsibility of the attack, however, according to the government officials, the attacks was carried out by Taliban insurgents, the main anti-government armed none state actor in the province. [6]
