Old Political Rivals Eye Political Cooperation after Recent Upheavals in Kabul
The leaders of Jamiat-e-Islami and Junbish Millie parties have stepped up efforts to boost political cooperation in the aftermath of the latest political and security upheavals in the country, particularly after the deadly bombings and violence in capital Kabul. Abdullah Pledges Probe into Recent Attacks in Kabul
CEO Abdullah Abdullah has said that government will launch an independent investigation into the recent attacks in Kabul and those who committed negligence in terms of not preventing the attacks will be prosecuted. Defiant Jamiat Insists on Security Reforms as ARG Urges Restraint
Members of Jamiat-e-Islami party reiterated their calls for systematic reforms to be brought in Afghanistan’s security institutions, saying the recent suicide attacks at the funeral ceremony that Jamiat leaders were attending had badly damaged trust, among the Afghan public and Jamiat party, in security institutions.
