Kabul: UAE Ambassador to Afghanistan Succumbed to Injuries
On 15 February 2017, Juma Al-Kaabi, the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Afghanistan who sustained injuries in a suicide bomb blast in Kandahar province on January 10, 2017 succumbed to his injuries.[1]
Nangarahar: 38 IS-K Militants Killed in Military Operation
On 15 February 2017, at least 38 loyalists of the Islamic State of Khorasan were killed during the newly-launched Shaheen-25 military operations in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. According to Afghan National Police (ANP) 21 militants were killed while nine others were injured during military operations in Gorgori and Payeen areas of Hashka Mina district. Similarly, 17 militants were also killed in a clearance operation conducted in Sepai and Patadari areas of Kot district in the said province.[2]
Paktia: One ANP Official Killed in Bomb Blast
On 15 February 2016, one member of Afghan National Police was killed and a district police chief was injured in a bomb blast that ripped through a police vehicle in Shwak district of Paktia province of Afghanistan.[3]
