MIRAMSHAH: Three security personnel were killed and another three injured in two explosions and a third bomb was defused in North Waziristan tribal region on Sunday. A convoy was passing through the Razmak-Bannu road when a remote-controlled explosive device ripped through it, killing three security men and leaving two others wounded. PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department has decided to start pre-primary or nursery classes in government primary schools for children below five years of age, sources said. It would be the first such initiative by the education department to pay attention to the education of children who come to the primary schools, but are not registered because of their lower age. PESHAWAR: The United Arab Emirate has pledged to provide financial support to polio eradication efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas for the next three years, according to officials. `We have sent plan for 2013-15 to the UAE government regarding polio immunisation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata. ISLAMABAD: The PTI-led coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is about to formally demand that the centre should withdraw army from Swat and Malakand in a phased manner because it believes it to be an important step for establishing peace in the province and adjacent tribal areas. WASHINGTON: No Pakistani government has ever asked the US to stop the drone strikes. In fact they were demanding transfer of drone technology to enable Pakistan to carry out the attacks themselves, a visiting Pakistani journalist was told by a US congressman. PESHAWAR: The police recovered two unidentified bodies dumped in the Nasir Bagh area near Khyber Agency on Sunday. Two persons, identified as Waqas Ahmad and Afzal, hailing from Regi village, were shot dead in the tribal area and their bodies thrown in the jurisdiction of Nasir Bagh Police Station. The News.

BAJAUR AGENCY: Political Agent Bajaur Agency, Syed Abdul Jabar Shah on Sunday said that the political administration is committed in eradicating polio disease from the agency and vowed of taking stick actions against those who would disrupt the anti-vaccination drive in the region that will start from Monday (today), FRC field reporter told. He said this while speaking at the inaugurated ceremony of the three days polio vaccination drive. He also urged the elders, Ulema’s and social workers to extend their support in the anti-polio drive in the area because their roles are vital in the elimination of polio disease from the agency.
MIRANSHAH: The US unmanned aerial vehicle fired two missiles on a house where militants were reportedly staying here in North Waziristan Agency on Friday night. As a result seven militants were killed. Political Administration in Miranshah, the headquarter of NWA, confirmed the incident by saying, “Seven suspected militants were killed in the drone attack targeting a compound in Mangroti village in Shawal tehsil of North Waziristan which is roughly around 70 km in west of Miranshah near Pak-Afghan border”.
