PESHAWAR: PTI Chairman Imran Khan urged the government on Wednesday to allow Taliban to open an office for the peace dialogue to be held in accordance of a decision of the recently held all-party conference. `If the government is serious about pursuing the dialogue process with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan it should allow them to have their own office like the one opened by the Afghan Taliban in Qatar, Imran Khan told reporters outside the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. `If the Americans can allow the opening of office in Qatar to facilitate talks with the Afghan Taliban, why can`t we do in our own country,` he said. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday lodged a strong protest with the Afghan Charged’ Affaires over the unprovoked mortar shelling in North Waziristan by the Afghan Border Police on September 24. According to Foreign Office spokesman’s statement the Afghan Charged’ Affaires was summoned to the Foreign Office on the evening of September 24 and the protest was lodged over the cross-border shelling which killed two civilians and injured another in the Bangi Dar area near the Afghan border. The firing resulted in the shahadat of 2 civilians and injury to another. GHALANAI: Around a dozen armed militants late Tuesday night targeted a vehicle of the Dam contractor near Ghallani headquarters of Mohmand agency, killing three workers of the Dam, and injuring six others while fleeing they also kidnapped two others, security sources told media. According to Security sources, the militants exploded an improvised explosive device (IED) near the vehicle of Dam’s contractor when he was coming back from the construction site. As result of the IED blast, three civilians were reportedly killed while three six sustained injuries. About 10 to 12 militants during midnight also set fire to excavators and other equipment being used in the dam construction and abducted two workers from the site, the Security sources added. Spokesman for Tehrik Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Mohmand Chapter Umer Khalid Khurasani in a statement from unknown location claimed to have killed three persons including two engineers and the contractor and abducted two other persons from Mohmand Agency’s headquarters Ghalanai. After the incident, officials of political administration carried out search operation and started search and clearance operation in the area. BANNU INP : At least five militants were killed as security forces repulsed an attack on a check-post in Bannu district while one soldier was also injured in the attack that took place early on Wednesday.
According to details, the militants launched a rocket attack on a checkpost in Jani Khel area early Wednesday morning. The attack was repulsed by the security forces who were fully alert during which five militants were killed.One security personnel was also injured in the incident The Nation.
