The Tripartite Commission on Tuesday signed the Tripartite Border Coordination Mechanism to improve near border coordination. According to the ISPR, the 36th meeting of the Tripartite Commission was held at the Afghan Ministry of Defence where the agreement was signed. The meeting was part of the Tripartite Coordination Mechanism and attended by Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, acting Isaf Commander Lieutenant General Nicholas Carter and Afghan COGS General Sher Muhammad Karimi along with their delegations. Police foiled a possible bid of terrorism by arresting two persons, including a suspected suicide attacker, near Sarbad area on Bara Road here Tuesday. The bomb disposable squad later defused the suicide jackets recovered from the attacker. The arrested persons were shifted to an unknown location for investigations. A person was killed and two others were injured in firing on containers carrying Nato supplies in Jamrud Tehsil on Tuesday, political administration said. The two containers came under attack near the Jamurd By-pass. The driver of the truck who was killed was identified as Khan Baz, two conductors of another truck were injured, and were shifted to a nearby hospital. The attackers escaped. Unknown gunmen shot dead a member of former peace committee in Rori area of Tehsil Kulachi in DI Khan, police said on Tuesday. Two unidentified armed motorcyclists sprayed volley of bullets at Muhammad Farooq Gandapur, a pro govt elder and former member of a peace committee of Kulachi Tehsil of DI Khan district when came out from his house in the limits of Kulachi police station. District Police Officer Nisar Ali Marwat narrowly escaped while his nephew and driver sustained injuries when an planted bomb went off near their vehicle on Tuesday. The police said that the DPO was on the way from his office to home and in the jurisdiction of Charsadda Police Station near Jahangirabad, a remote controlled bomb exploded with big bang. As a result, the driver of the DPO, Tila Muhammad and his nephew Wajahat Ali khan got wounded while the vehicle was completely destroyed. Sources told that DPO himself remained safe miraculously. Unknown miscreants planted bomb in Zakakhel area of Khber Agency which exploded when members of Tauheed Ul Islam were passing through the site. The two members of Tauheed ul Islam were going back to their trench when suddenly the already planted bomb exploded. One of them sustained injuries while the other died on the spot. Daily Mashriq.
Students belonging to Fata, Balochistan and Gilgat Baltistan studying in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will get HEC scholarship under the Federal Government Scholarship Program 2012-13, it was learnt on Tuesday.
According to an official communiqué send by HEC to UoP Masters, MS/M.phil and PhD students from the above mentioned areas studying in public sectors universities, affiliated government colleges, public sector degree awarding institutes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could avail the scholarships. These students must have the domicile of their respective areas in order to claim the scholarship.

WANA: 120 members of Ahmadzai Wazir Tribal Jarga on Sunday guaranteed the Political Administration to expel the TTP and foreign militants from their area. A Jarga of Ahmadzai tribe was held with the political administration in the presence of security forces in the FC camp Wana. The Jarga was attended by tribal elders of Toe Khula and the officials of political administration besides security forces. The notables among the attendees were Assistant Political Agent Shahid Ali and FC commandant Atif ur Rehman.
Landi Kotal: A protest rally against the suicide attack on ex-Jamaat-e-Islam (JI) Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad was held here in Bacha Khan chowk, main bazaar of Landi kotal, sub-division of Khyber Agency here on Tuesday. A large number of JI workers and tribesmen were holding banners and placard inscribed with slogans against the miscreants for the murder attack on Qazi and against the government for its failure to establish peace in the tribal areas.
Peshawar: Suicide attack carried out on the convoy of ex-chief of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Qazi Hussain Ahmad in Mohmand Agency. Qazi narrowly escaped the blast. Peshawar: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari addressed Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. President Zardari became the first elected president in the history of Pakistan to address a provincial assembly of the country. He also became the first president to address to Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Assembly in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Prior to this in martial regime, Gen. Zia ul Haq had addressed to Punjab Assembly at its 75th foundational day.
