Birmal, 01 May 2016: 15 militant were killed in a violent armed clash between Khan Said Group (Mehsud Taliban) of South Waziristan Agency and Hakimullah Group of Tehreek-e- Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Birmal District of Paktia Province of Afghanistan.
According to Sailab Mehsud, FRC field researcher for South and North Waziristan Agencies, the fierce armed clash between the two banned outfits took place in Laman area in Birmal District of Paktiya province of the Afghanistan.
“A violent armed clash erupted between the two groups on 1st May 2016 at 10 PM and is still going on. So far, more than 15 militants of Hakeemullah group of TTP have been killed in the clash”, said Sailab Mehsud. “Sher Afghan Mehsud, Mirzo Mehsud and Kitab Mehsud of Hakeemullah group were among the Killed”, he added.
Till the filing of the report no casualties of Khan Said Group were reported.
The two groups had been at odds with each after HakimullahMehsud was appointed as the head of TTP. Since then, more than 200 fighters, majority from Hakimullah group have lost their lives in fierce armed clashes between the two militant groups.
