Balkh: The security forces killed 8 Taliban militants including a commander of the group during the operations in northern Balkh and Jawzjan provinces. The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the security forces conducted an operation with the support of the Air Forces in Asiab Khan area of Chamtal district in Balkh. The statement further added that the security forces killed 7 Taliban militants during the operation and wounded 9 others. Kabul: A suicide attack targeted a governmental bus in Kabul city killing or wounding at least 15 civilians. Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the explosion took place in Millie Bus Square in 16th district of the city.Rahimi further added that the explosion targeted a vehicle carrying the staff of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.He also added that preliminary findings indicate the explosion killed 5 civilians and wounded 10 others. Nangarhar: A deadly explosion ripped through a vehicle carrying wedding guests in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. The Provincial Government Media Office in a statement said a roadside bomb explosion targeted a vehicle in Wazir area of Khogyai district. The statement further added that the explosion killed 9 civilians including 6 women and 3 children. Logar: The Afghan forces conducted separate operations in Logar and Ghazni provinces killing, wounding at least 13 Taliban militants. The 203rd Thunder Corps in a statement said the security forces an operation in the vicinity of Mohammad Agha district killing 9 Taliban militants. The statement further added that the security forces killed a Taliban fighter and wounded another militant during a separate raid in Baraki Barak district. Furthermore, the 203rd Thunder Corps said the security forces killed 2 Taliban militants during an operation in Aab district of Ghazni province. Kabul: The casualties’ toll back to back explosions in Kabul has further climbed to at least 56.The Ministry of Public Health officials confirmed that the explosions killed 10 civilians including 5 women and a child. The officials further added that the explosions also wounded 41 others including women and children. No individual or group including Taliban has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion. Takhar: An attack by Taliban militants claimed the lives of 37 security personnel in North-eastern Takhar province. Wafiullah Amin, Provincial Council Chief of Takhar confirmed that the Taliban militants attacked the security check posts in Eshkamish district.Amin further added that the attack the claimed the lives of 37 security personnel including 24 Public Order Policemen and 13 National Police soldiers. Furthermore, Amin said the security institutions deployed additional forces at around 7 am local time who recaptured the area from Taliban militants. He also added that the attack wounded 6 policemen and an unspecified number of policemen have gone missing. Meanwhile, Amin described negligence and lack of preparations as the main reasons behind the casualties of the police forces.This comes as Taliban militants have stepped up attacks across the country in a bid to gain more privileges in ongoing peace talks.
