February 16, 2016: Hakeemullah Group of South Waziristan has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of two members of Peace Committee, here on Tuesday, from Bobrak Thana near Pak-Afghan border, in Kurrum Agency, the FRC learnt.
In a telephonic call to Sailab Mehsud FRC field researcher for South Waziristan, Saifullah Wazir, a senior commander of Hakeemullah Group, for Khost, Kurrum and Tal area said that their fighters, on charges of spying, have kidnapped Malik Jananan, and Malik Mazagai of North Waziristan Agency.
“Our fighters have abducted Malik Janan and Malik Mazagai who were part of the Grand Jirga of North Waziristan Agency and have been spying for the government of Pakistan. Our fighters are interrogating them”, said Saifullah Wazir.
“In the coming days our fighters will abduct more individuals working for the government of Pakistan”, added, Saifullah Wazir.
On 14th February 16, 2016, Malik Janan and Malik Mazagai who belong to Hassan Khel, a sub-clan of Utmankhel Wazir of North Waziristan were abducted from Bobrak Thana near the Pak-Afghan Border, in Kurrum Agency, when they were returning to Pakistan after holding a meeting with the internally displaced person of North Waziristan currently dwelling in Khost province of Afghanistan.
It is also important to mention here that few days back both the tribal elders [Malik Janan and Malik Mazagai] paid a visit to Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyberpkhtunkhwa to hold a meeting with the government officials to discuss the issues and challenges faced by the IDPs of North Waziristan Agency.
Both the elders [Malik Janan and Malik Mazagai] after holding meetings with high ups in Pakistani Government have travelled to Khost Province of Afghanistan meet the IDPs of North Waziristan taking refuge there.
Meanwhile in another incident of terrorism, a personnel of Pakistan Army lost his life when an IED detonated in Tanai area of Wanna South Waziristan Agency.
Till the filing of this report none of the militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.
