Miranshah, May 28: A large number of Uthmanzai Wazir tribal elders put their heads together in a Jirga here in Kaski area of Mirali tehsil on Tuesday and unanimously proposed to government to seek out a solid and durable solution to the perpetuating volatile law and order situation of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) through dialogue while keeping in view the general miseries of the area people, FRC learnt.
The Jirga, comprising of a large number of tribal elders from Wazir and Dawar tribes of NWA, was attended by people belonging to different walks of life from the restive agency.
The elders of the Jirga resolved that they want to handle multiple issues in the area through dialogues with the government including law and order situation of the agency.
“We want to seek out solutions to different problems in the agency the government is confronting”, said Haji Sher Mohammad, an elder of Wazir tribe while talking to FRC.
Mr. Mohammad further said that the natives of the agency are so frustrated with the prevailing security circumstances that they are ready to discuss and fulfill every valid and logical demand of the government at the cost of peace in area.
“Government should inform us about the areas where they are facing troubles primarily created by the locals, point it out and we will take actions against them thereby fulfilling the valid and logical objections of the government”, said Mr. Mohammad.
Maulvi Noroz Khan, a tribal elder, revealed that people of the area want peace at general and this remained the sole reason that pushed us to gathered here in a large number and let the government know about the miseries of the people.
“We cordially invite the government to come forward and let discuss, at one platform, all the problems the government and the locals are facing in the agency and to devise a mechanism through which both the involved parties can get optimum results that will eventually lead us towards a durable and long lasting solution (peace)”, told Mr. Khan to FRC.
The following points were agreed upon by all the members of the Jirga; one, continuation of uthmanzai wazir 2006 peace treaty with government, two, immediate halt to the surgical military operations, three, efforts will be made to keep peace intact in North Waziristan Agency, four, Jirgas’ should be used as a tool for dispute resolution and fro maintaining peace in the agency.
It was the one of the huge gathering of tribal elders being seen in North Waziristan Agency for the past many years. The grand jirga was held with the patronage of Haji Sher Mohammad, successor to Faqir of Api Haji Mirzali Khan.
