BAJAUR AGENCY, Dec 16: A pro government tribal elder and senior leader of PML-N escaped unhurt in a remote controlled bomb blast here on Sunday in Tanagi area of tehsil Salarzai in Bajaur Agency, FRC learnt.
Gull Karim Khan, 48, is a pro government tribal elder and government contractor.
Officials of political administration said that Gull Kareem Khan, General Secretary of PML-N local chapter was going in his personal car to Khar from his home when a remote controlled bomb went off near his motor vehicle. Luckily he remained safe in attack but his vehicle was damaged partially.
People of the area, members of peace committees and Bajaur levies rushed to the spot soon after the incident and launched a search operation but the attackers managed to escape successfully.
No militant group has claimed responsibility of the attack till the filing of this report.
In another development from the area, workers of Jamaat-e-Islami and Bajaur traders association here on Sunday staged a protest demonstration against the administration for imposing ban over motorcycle riding in the agency.
Workers of JI, Shabbab-e-Mili, representative of Bajaur traders association and union of motorcycle mechanics participated in the protest leaded by JI Bajaur General Secretary Qari Abdul Majeed.
The speakers criticized the local administration for imposed ban over motorcycle riding in the agency and termed it an open violation of basic rights of the tribesmen because it’s badly affecting people.
