KHAR, 08 June 2016: A tribal elder was killed by unknown armed assailants in Khar tehsil of Bajaur Agency on 7 June 2016, local people and administration officials told FRC.
According to an official of the local administration, Malik Naushad Khan was on his way to home from a nearby market when unknown assailants opened fired at him in Haji Lawang area of the Agency. He received serious wounds and died while being taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Soon after the attack, local people and members of peace committee reached the site and launched a search operation to nab the attackers. No group has so far claimed responsibility of the attack. However, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan-Bajaur (TTP-Bajaur) led by Sheikh Gul Muhammad, younger brother of former head, Maulana Faqir Muhammad, is active in the area.
