SWA, September, 07, 2015: The banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for attacks on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal in Samanabad, Lahore and Qaumi Watan Party leader Muhammad Umar in Lower Dir District, here on Monday, FRC learnt.
The central spokesman of the outlawed TTP, Mohammad Khurassani, accepted the responsibility of the attacks via an electronic mail to FRC.
“The STF force of TTP targeted a senior leader of PTI, Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal, in Lahore, however he survived the attack”, reads the pamphlet.
In the electronic message the TTP spokesperson also claimed responsibility for the killing of a former tehsil nazim of QWP, Muhammad Umar who was gunned down by masked motorcyclists outside his house at Kotigram area in the jurisdiction of Ouch police station of Lower on Sunday.
“Our valiant fighters of STF forces killed Muhamad Umar in Kotigram area in the jurisdiction of Ouch police station of Lower Dir and fled the scene skillfully”, revealed the spokesman.
Meanwhile the TTP also claimed responsibility for killing of police official in Dera Ghazi Khan on Sunday.
It was vowed in the pamphlet that such targets will be attacked in future as well to as a retaliation of ongoing military operation against TTP and other militant outfits in the tribal areas of Pakistan.
