CHARSADA, Monday, March 07, 2016: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jammat-ul-Ahrar (TTP-JA) – a breakaway faction of the Mullah Fazlullah-led TTP claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on the district court in Shabqadar area of Charsadda District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KP). At least 13 people, including three police personnel, were killed while another 27 were injured in the attack. Given the intensity of the attack, there is a fear that casualty rate may increase among the injured one.
Ehsanullah Ehsan, the central spokesman of the TTP-JA , in a statement sent to the FRC via email claimed responsibility for the attack and said that it is in revenge for Mumtaz Qadri’s execution by the Pakistani authorities.
“We carried out the suicide attack on district court in Shabqadar to avenge the execution of our martyred brother Mumtaz Qadri,” said Ehsanullah Ehsan. In the electronic message, Ehsanullah Ehsan, while justifying the suicide attack in District court in Charsadda, said that his group will continue its activities against the state till the enforcement of Sharia in the country.
“We have not killed civilians. The court and judges were our target as their practices are un-Islamic”, said Ehsanullah Ehsan. Earlier, in a statement on TTP’s website, Ehsan asked the people to rise against the existing political system and boycott the government and security agencies.
